In April 2024, we announced an exciting partnership with the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA) whereby ALPMA would now power ALTA. This arrangement kicked off a flurry of activity and achievements over the past 9 months, as the ALPMA team worked hard to reinvigorate the benefits to ALTA members, including the revival of ALTACON in 2024, the launch of theWiLD Directory and delivering on partnership entitlements.

Powering ahead in 2024

This year, we have:

• Hosted two Hour of Power online events.​
• Launched the Women of ALTA (WALTA) 2nd initiative – theWiLD Directory and hosted two member meet up events.
• Actively worked with the Law Institute of Victoria to provide six (6) Legal Technology webinars to their members.
• Supported the ALITA Awards 2024 and appeared at legal tech events hosted by Law Institute of Victoria and the Women in Law Forum 2024.
• Brought back the ALTACON event in conjunction with the ALPMA Summit, which was held in Brisbane in September this year.

My thanks go to the Board Directors of ALTA for their hard work this year, in particular to Karen Finch who held the reins as Chair for the majority of FY24, stepping down in August this year for personal reasons. ​

The return of ALTACON

ALTACON returned in September 2024!

ALTACON provided the perfect opportunity for our members to get in front of law firm decision makers through our Advocate membership and also the extension to ALPMA Members attending the ALPMA Summit. The day was buzzing with over 350 attendees, provided over 30 legal technology sessions for delegates and hosted the Law Tech Hub’s pitch competition.

We’re looking forward to growing ALTACON year on year!

On the horizon

ALTA is heading into the new year with a number of exciting things on the horizon:

• Expanding value and opportunities for ALTA members and advocates.
• Closer ties with the ALPMA community and opportunities for ALPMA members.
• More member meetups, thought leadership sessions and exclusive content for theWiLD members.
• Hosting ALTACON 2025 in September at the ICC, Sydney!
